These Thanksgiving Dinner Gumballs would make a cute gift for kids, or for college students who are too far away to make it home for Thanksgiving dinner! There are three flavors: Turkey, Cranberry Sauce, and Pumpkin Pie. I think they would certainly taste.... interesting! But I probably should not indulge myself -- I can't stand the buttered popcorn flavor of Jelly Belly, because the taste is right, but so wrong with that texture! I have to imagine turkey-flavored gum might be a similar experience.... But kids love things that are weird or even gross!
With allergies, I go through so many tissues that I think I should buy stock in Kleenex. My mom always puts one or two tissue packs in each of our stockings, and they're definitely welcome. If you don't want to go with the traditional brand, here is a funny version called Gesundheit tissues. If you can't read the small print in the photo here, the tissue pack helpfully notes that these tissues absorb bratwurst grease, soak up polka sweat, and fit in lederhosen. OK, I admit they're a little dorky!
As soon as I saw this, I knew I had to post about it right around tax day.... This "Financial Crunch" tin features a banker's dozen (11 pieces!) of chocolate with a "bite" already taken out and a message that says "Bite back!" And biting back gives you that "crunch," which comes from corn flakes. I have to say, I'm certainly not the best housekeeper in the world, so these kitchen towels would suit me to a T. Along the same lines as their Marital Bliss chocolate bar, the Spoon Sisters website also offers this set of four emergency chocolate mini bars. Each bar is 1 ounce, and you can choose milk chocolate or dark chocolate. This would make a great stocking stuffer for a chocoholic, or a cute gag gift for your co-workers, especially if you work in a busy or stressful environment. At $6.95 for the set of four, that comes out to just under $1.75 apiece before shipping.
Yes! I have a feeling this is exactly what I need after the day I had at work yesterday. Endless meetings with a lot of people saying nothing. Rarely have I felt so frustrated.
These definitely fall into the gag gift stocking stuffer category: Handerpants, otherwise known as underwear for your hands! These fingerless gloves are designed to look like men's briefs, and are just the kind of silly thing that teens or college students might find amusing. They're available on several websites including Archie McPhee and Perpetual Kid. They're 95% cotton and 5% spandex.
We've all seen the gag gifts of little lumps of coal in the catalogs, or the do-it-yourself snowman poop gag gift stocking stuffers, but I much prefer this box of individually wrapped flavored black gumballs disguised as coal -- you still have your joke, but the recipient gets the real gum too, which is much nicer than an actual lump of coal that will get tossed into the junk drawer or gather dust on a shelf. There are 2.5 oz of gumballs in each box, and the outside of the box has appropriate phrases such as "because you've been very bad." Cute, don't you think?

Wow, for a minute there I thought it said chocolate-covered sardines! How gross would that be?! But no, it's just a funny little tin of sardine-shaped milk chocolates. The 4.2 ounce container holds 12 "sardines". I think this would be pretty funny in a guy's stocking!
Since these coasters are made of paper and are essentially for one-time use, they are a little pricey, but you have to admit they're funny, and would make a cute little gag gift in a hostess basket, or a stocking stuffer for your family member who loves to entertain. After all, what hostess doesn't need to occasionally remind her guests not to: 1) double dip, 2) eat all the shrimp, or 3) pick through the nuts? I have definitely had a few guests in my home over the years that could have used some gentle reminders....
Hmm, I'm beginning to wonder if Tuesday should be "tacky Tuesday stocking stuffer" day! Today's Halloween "stocking stuffer" (pumpkin stuffer?) is this little Pimp My Pumpkin mini-kit, which I found while wandering around Barnes & Noble last weekend. You've seen those little miniature books/kits in the spinning racks at the front of the bookstores, right? I've been given some as gifts before, like the Crazy Cat Lady magnetic sculpture, and the Harry Potter sorting hat, and the Nancy Drew's Guide to Life.... Most of these are put out by a Running Press Miniature Editions, and I have to admit that they're funny.

I hadn't really planned to start mentioning any Halloween-related "stocking stuffers" until later in the month, but here it is October 1st, and I just can't wait! So instead of having my "seven days of Halloween" running precisely from October 25 to October 31, I'm going to sprinkle little Halloween tidbits throughout this month, interspersed with the usual stocking stuffers.
