I have a confession to make. I have an irrational fear of lemon zest. I'm not actually afraid of the zest itself, but I am convinced that if I ever try to take the zest off a lemon or lime, I will go down too far to the bitter part and ruin whatever recipe I'm making.
Perhaps it's time to face my zesting fear. So maybe I will ask Santa for one of these palm zesters from Sur La Table in my Christmas stocking. It's an ergonomic design that stores the zest as you go, and it's top-rack dishwasher safe.
