
Here's something a little different for kids or science-minded teens: six-inch optical illusion rulers that give the appearance of motion (click
here to see the catalog image showing the actual motion). The choices are blinking eyes, piano hands, crawling ants, and a running horse. They're a little pricier than I would like ($9.99 list price, currently on sale for $8.99), but at least it's actually useful as a ruler too, instead of being
just a gimmick. As of this writing only the piano hands ruler is in stock, but if someone you know would like one of the other ones (a horse-loving daughter, perhaps?), you can always check back periodically to see if they're back in stock. (See my
