Magnetic Alphabet

One of the simplest things you can get for your child's stocking, that will be good for hours and hours of fun, is a plastic magnetic alphabet, the kind that comes in many colors and can be purchased at drug stores, grocery stores, and even dollar stores. As long as your little one is old enough for the magnets not to be a choking hazard, it doesn't matter if he or she is big enough to read yet -- the earlier a child becomes familiar with the alphabet, and (more importantly!) considers it to be a fun thing, the better!

And most of these alphabets come in small enough packages to fit nicely inside a decent-sized stocking. Clear some space near the bottom of your refrigerator and let your little one discover the wonder of letters and words as early as possible.

What: Magnetic Alphabet
Where: Grocery stores, dollar stores, drugstores, etc.
How much (as of today's post): varies
